It's ANOTHER Husker Win!!!!
With the blackshirts paving the way, the University of Nebraska put the wood to Maine tonight, 25-7. Another sellout crowd of 76,000+ of the greatest fans on earth saw the Huskers crush and outstanding Maine team in yet another shootout in Lincoln.
Newcomer Zach Taylor wowed the fans and showed why he's a future #1 draft pick by completing 44% of his passes against one of the nastiest and mediocre defenses in division 1AA. Meanwhile, one of the Big 12's leading returning rushers got the Black Bears back on their heels and sent the Bears home with their tails between their legs, rushing for 3.4 yards per carry and zero touchdowns.
But as outstanding as the high-octane Husker offense was, the Blackshirts were simply spectacular. Nebraska showed why they're one of the most dominant programs in America by shutting down the high-powered Maine attack to only SEVEN points. (Seven away from a shutout.) Needless to say, future opponents will need to take into account just how the hell they are going to score on this NU defense, because everybody knows..if Maine can't score more than 7 points..nobody can.
perennial power Wake Forest brings their decades of football tradition to Lincoln next weekend for a 6pm game. Needless to say, they're going to have to bring their A game in order to pull off a win against the mighty Huskers...who at this point in the season, have the best record in the country.

Wow, no sarcasm at all. You're really coming around.
College football season couldn't have come soon enough; for a moment there I'd stopped wondering why Jim Roses still has a job.
Last night was alarmingly bad. The Husker pumpers are reciting "a win is a win", and "better to barely beat Maine than to lose to TCU"...
Meanwhile, in North Carolina, a former Husker QB is chuckling...
I feel for ya Mike, because you see the forest for the trees. I posted on Tigerboard this morning that the nightmare scenerio for Husker Haters would have been if Pelini would have been hired.
As a fan of an opposing team..that would scare the hell out of me because a) he's a smart defensive minded coach. b) He's young and knows how to win. c) Has a killer instinct. For some reason Callahan seems to me a guy that likes to make his program look and feel real slick, and then doesn't have a clue when push comes to shove on gameday.
But back to Pelini...I know a lot of Husker fans were pisssed that he didn't get chosen for the head coaching job, and although he didn't have any expierence, he brought a bite to the program that isn't there now.
30 more years of 45 minute possessions per game, 350 yards and a cloud of dust type football would have drove me nuts.
But instead, you get a system that has been proven not to work in college.
We shall see, but yes...they are in SERIOUS trouble.
I think after the GREAT game the cornshuckers had against a mighty and dominating team like Maine...USC better watch out! I mean come-on...DID YOU SEE THE CORNSHUCKERS' OFFENSE...UNBELIEVABLE!
Maine's right up there with Mizzery as a football power.
Good one on so many levels:
1) "Mizzery". Nice. Original. Fresh. Chris Rock should be giving you a call any day now.
2) Maine was 4-5 in 1AA last year. Mizzou plays in the Big 12.
Bottom line? Don't blame me your team sucks balls. And next time, feel free to lose the anonymous..it only makes you look like a pussy.
Thanks.
Hey, no one got arrested!
give it time, Adam.
Nothing funnier than seeing a Mizzery inbred calling others "hicks". So how are things in the telemarketing game "No Life"?
