More Cotton Bowl Fallout

Great article in the Fort Worth paper on the complete ineptness of Bill Callahan. Thought I would share and cause more cat fights within the Hick Nation. Enjoy. (Sorry, registration required. Get a fake e-mail and just do it.)

What the hell are the Callahan apologists going to say now. The apologists berated Frank because Herbstreit said Nebraska was a high school offense. Now you have news articles explaining how retarded the Husker head coach is.

I bet that speaks volumes for recruiting the "NFL talent" that Jim Rose is always talking about.

So here's the question Callahan apologists should ponder (not that they will), is being called a high school offense worse than being called a retard? In my book, you can change an offense, but once you're a retard, you're always a retard.

Which is an easier sell on a new recruit: "Hey we'd like you to come to Nebraska so we can feature you in a new offense", or "Hey, even though you're talented, I'll probably not utilize it to the best of your ability because I'm a retard."

People in Dallas don't care about NU. It's a humor piece written for people like me.

Q: What's the difference between Frank coaching Nebraska and Bill?

A: Bill loses with better players.

So you'd like to compare the job Charlie Weiss has done to Callahan, is that it?

How many "full" recruiting classes has Charlie Weiss had, and where has he gone with his talent? I believe Charlie had the most talented quarterback in the nation, how'd Zac Taylor do in that voting?

Comparing last nights game to the Cotton Bowl, another apples to oranges comparison. How'd Charlies offense work against the Bo P. defense, not very successful, so he was trying to do something. Big difference from being able to run the ball 3 to 5 yds per attempt at the time.

I would, but it's like a car crash. I can't look away.

I do everything I can to piss off Husker fan...probably more than anybody else on earth that I can think of not named Rick Neuheisel....and yet I can't turn it off.

Hell, JP doesn't even call me a douchebag anymore.

JP,

Thanks for contradictions on your own points, apparently hypocrisy comes easy to some.

Charlie Weiss came in and wins with another coaches players, Pete Carroll did that to (and without "full recruiting classes" to boot) and the guy at LSU (according to JP earlier arguements and the Rivals retards this is not possible, but using JP's "logic" it was impossible for Bo P. to have a top 10 defense, but by golly he did, probably did it just to spite God, not because he was a good coach). Callahan doesn't seem to have that ability, oh I forgot, that win against Michigan in 05 was supposed to show Nebraska turned the corner, and that win over A & M proved it, why the heck didn't we get into the BCS on points, I mean we lost to Texas, USC, and Oklahoma, (don't mention OSU though) that proves were ready, isn't that the thinking Callahan apologists. How'd ND fair in the BCS standing vs. Nebraska? (I think ND was at least in the running, maybe God is a ND fan, and there's nothing we can do about that.)

Weiss makes it to a BCS bowl with less than stellar talent (according to JP's "logic"), which proves the other point wrong you've cried over for centuries, a top ten recruting class doesn't mean a top ten finish (apparently coaching has something to do with it, and we must not be getting it). As you pointed out, no Rivals rating over 12 in the past three years, yet somehow ND has found themselves in a BCS the past two seasons, amazing. ND also played USC within one play of a win in 05, not exactly the same scenario when Nebraska showed up to USC, and didn't have to face Bush and Leinart to boot.

Solich went 7-7 his fifth year, (maybe this is why Rivals retards are so dependent on other people doing numbers for them), and he went 10-3 the next season with almost the same personnel. Hey, what's Bill's record during rebuilding? (Other than killing the streak for winning seasons, and bowl apperances.)

(Hey, I see the post, and I'll drop the Callhan being retarded stuff, but it's hilarious to watch JP take specifics and make general statements, making assumptions without facts. Which is basically what I do with AJ when he groups the entire Husker Nation into bucktoothed, overall wearing, tobacco chewing, sister marrying category. See, I was the kid that liked to corner the defenseless bull snake and torture him into striking for hours of entertainment.)

Guys like JP like to think they are Husker Nation, but Husker Nation is bigger than Callahan, Pedersen, Frank, Herbstreit comments, Rivals.com and the like. Guys that put more emphasis on protecting Callahan/Frank from doing a crappy job, explain away Pedersens ego, pin all their hopes on Rivals.com numbers don't fully understand Husker Nation. I'm not saying their not fans, because they are, they buy the clothes, buy tickets to games, and name their kids Bill, Frank and Tom (even though their girls), but missing the full appreciation of what Husker Nation is.

Hey, is the Omaha World Herald down on circulation? I heard from a livid former Husker player that they reprinted the Ft. Worth article or some variation.

Louisville, not in the top 20 by Rivals.

Wake Forest , not in the top 20 by Rivals.

Boise State, not in the top 20 by Rivals.

Not only not in the top 20 this year, but the year before, and the year before, and the year before. I wonder how they ended up in BCS bowls this year?
