ON HIATUS - We Need Some Time Apart
OK, I can't take it anymore.
I tried to keep going as best I can, but the onset of the annual slobberfest that is the College World Series has finally tapped out any and all creativity I had left. I tried to hang on, but until football season gets here, I'm simply out of off-season ways in which to tell you how much your team sucks.
So with that, I think it's only fair that we take a step back and spend some time apart. It's not you...it's me. I simply think with the complete and total destruction of the Husker football program, it's best we take a few weeks off to regroup and galvanize our hate toward each other. I don't have the heart to mock you about your shitty baseball team. I don't have the stamina to rant about ESPN just one more time. The College World Series blows, and if you haven't figured all of this out yet yourself....then you simply aren't paying attention.
I'll be back in July with more of what you've come to love...and that of course is complete and total hate and disdain toward the Husker football program and their Legions of Melvins who worship them.
I realize the quality of this blog has suffered in recent months, and I swear I'll do the best I can to find that hate you've grown to expect from this long-standing web publication. I'm sorry it's come to this, but it's for the best...for both of us.

I think it's funny. If I keep spinning the same thing, I'm redundant. If I throw down fire and brimstone rants, I'm still letting Husker fans get to me.
If I take a few weeks off and say, "fuck it, they're not worth it"...I've now gone insane.

How am I to keep up to date on all the girlfriend assault and batteries and DUI's for which the UN-Lincoln football team is famous? What happens if Joe Ganz hits a chick in the face with a plastic solo cup for stepping into the unisex bathroom just before he can get there? Who will be there for me when Maurice Purify gets picked up for beating up a high school kid after making fun of his Bengals' uniform. What about when Marlon Lucky breaks TO's hip in an ATM holdup gone wrong? How am I supposed to satisfy my bloodlust for unlawful intent and armed criminal action? Who, I ask...who?

This always cracks me up. I'll try to help do my part to get some hate brewing again...since I've been long convinced that your hate is completely grounded (as in many Mizzou fan's case) in an inferiority complex.
What's that? Mizzou was 5-6 waaaay back in '04?! You don't say?! That's weird...the Huskers had the same record that year.
But wait, hold on, it gets better...you mean Missouri went 5-7 in '02?! Wow, who'd have thunk it?!
And they were 4-7 the year before that...and 3-8 the year before that...and 4-7 the year before that?! Get out!
You mean, they had losing records in 13 of the previous 15 seasons before that, compiling a record of 57-106-5 along the way?!
How ever did they manage to overcome the COMPLETE AND TOTAL DESTRUCTION™ that was known as Missouri Football circa 1890-2006?!?! I mean, if the juggernaut that is the current Missouri football program could get over dozens of consecutive 1, 2, 3 and 4-win seasons, surely there's reason to hope that Nebraska (with it's vast resources, loyal fanbase and superb facilities) could somehow rebound from a lone 5-7 campaign.
I mean, after all, the mighty Tigers did manage to win the cotton bowl last year...but then again, the Huskers couldn't even get that done ONLY ONE YEAR PRIOR!! Is taking mantle of winning the "Participant Ribbon" in the Big 12 championship somehow now simultaneously the mark of both the unbridled success of one program and the complete and utter destruction of another? I guess so, if you're into double standards! As indeed you consistently are...attaining an exact same level of achievement in a given season is somehow different for your team than mine because, why again? Oh yeah, something to do with "expectations" and blah, blah, blah.
It's nothing short of a miracle that Mizzou has been able to attain the lofty heights that NU accomplished the year before...and in the process, overcome years and years worth of COMPLETE AND TOTAL DESTRUCTION™!! (All given their laughable facilities, fair-weather fanbase and what not.) But you're probably right, the Melvins who root for NU can only hope against hope that our squad can somehow, someday overcome the pitiful lot we are mired in...you're probably right, it is probably hopeless. Only a team like your own could ever be expected to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and turn things around. We are stupid, ignorant dumbfucks for even thinking we could ever possibly do the same.
In any event, all sarcasm aside...I encourage you to take your gloating shots while you can, as the longstanding trends across the entirety of the college football landscape don't bode well for your COMPLETE AND TOTAL DESTRUCTION™ theory. Most anyone who's followed college football longer than the last 9 months is pretty well aware of this. You'll have plenty to hate on the Huskers about soon enough, so enjoy your sabbatical.

Let me speak from experience, since NU fan likes to point out how much the other teams in the north have lost historically, and explain that when your team sucks that bad you spend your summer shutting your fucking mouth.
Because there is at least a chance that the same good for nothing lazy players you had last year will pop up for another season of underachieving.

I think the point is, we take delight in the Nubbies complete meltdown because we know it tears at your pride. We take delight because you, in your better than everyone else fan attitude, claimed it would never happen...could never happen. Now, you're left with the realization that your program can be just as shitty as everybody else. Ball State for example. But noooooooo...you continue to make ridiculous and wild claims about 11-1 and 10-2 seasons. We laugh at you and roll our eyes at your wild predictions like Heisman Trophy winning backfields in the months of May and June, we laugh at you because of your stupid slogans like "Restore the Order" and "reBOrn". We laugh at you because we know, no matter what happens to your football team, which is so intimately linked to your ego, you'll always regard yourselves as better than every other fan, which makes your fall even more fun to watch.
